Expresiones By the time, On time, In time
En inglés las expresiones By the time, On time, In time se utilizan con matices ligeramente diferentes. "By the time" significa no más tarde de la hora señalada, sobre la hora indicada, alrededor de la hora:You have to be here by 6 o'clock. Tienes que estar aquí no más tarde de las 6 en punto
The train will arrive by 10:30. El tren llegará sobre las 10.30
"On time" significa exactamente a la hora señalada, ni antes, ni después:
The match begins at 4:30. I will be there on time. El partido empieza a las 4.30. Yo estaré allí puntual (llegaré a las 4.30, ni antes, ni después)
The bus leaves at 3. I will be there on time. El autobús sale a las 3.00. Yo estaré allí puntual (justo a las 3.00)
"In time" significa con tiempo suficiente:
The match begins at 4:30. I will be there in time. El partido empieza a las 4.30. Yo estaré allí con tiempo (llegaré antes de las 4.30)
